Karen L. Cobb, PHR has over 16 years experience as an HR Generalist, Senior Recruiter/Trainer and manager in retail and service industries.

She developed and implemented all HR functions for a growing staffing agency. Karen wrote policies/procedures/ employee handbooks, hired, trained all personnel, worked with AIG to develop a safety program that met NY State requirements. Represented the company in all legal hearings, won over 92% of those hearings due to recordkeeping procedures she put into place and reduced UI Benefits paid out by the company.

When working in the service industry, she reduced turnover from 42% to 18% by selecting, hiring and training the right employees. This was the highest retention rate the southeast had seen in many years.

Her professional memberships include Charlotte Society for Human Resources Management, National Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and National Association for Professional Women (NAPW).

Karen served as co-chairperson of the Promotions Committee for the NC SHRM 2008 Conference. She has previously volunteered as a Presenter at the 2005 HRGames State Collegiate Competition in Charlotte and at the 2007 SE Regional Conference and HRGames.
